Today (02/03/2026) SunTrust's posted APRs for refinances are: 24‑month 6.74%, 36‑month 7.09%, 48‑month 7.24%, 60‑month 7.49%, and 72‑month 7.39%. Shorter terms remain cheaper than longer ones, but small daily moves are showing up across the board.
Through November and early December many terms were clustered lower (mid‑6% range for 24–36 months, high‑6% for longer terms). Mid‑January saw a step higher: 24‑month moved from 6.49% to 6.74% and held; most 36–60 month terms climbed from the low‑6s to the high‑6s and then into low‑7s. On 02/03 several terms nudged up again, while the 72‑month slipped a touch — a reminder that longer terms can be more volatile.
If you’re chasing lower monthly payments, a longer term can help but will usually cost more in APR and total interest. If your goal is pay‑off speed and interest savings, shorter terms (24–36 months) are the sweet spot when you can afford the payment.
